Wier & Wind was a Belgian-Dutch consortium project (2019-2022) that successfully demonstrated large-scale mechanized seaweed cultivation within North Sea offshore wind farms. Coordinated by North Sea Farmers with a EUR 3.4M EU-funded budget, it achieved the first automated offshore seaweed harvesting operation.
